PUBLIC SAFETY

PROTECTING WITH PRIDE

At Hofstra, your well-being is the priority. Whether you’re heading to class or walking back from a late-night event, you should always feel safe and secure.

We know safety matters, to students, families, and everyone in the community. That’s why the Department of Public Safety is here 24/7, not

just to respond but also to show up, look out for you, and help in ways both big and small.

You’ll see officers:

  • Walking campus paths.
  • Riding bikes or in patrol vehicles.
  • Stopping to chat with students.
  • Leading workshops and training sessions.
  • Partnering with students and faculty.

We believe safety starts with relationships. We’re not just first responders—we’re real people, here for you.
